Ashton House is under the care of our Registered Manager Bincy Mathew – Overseeing both unit Nursing wing Main House and Dementia Unit Hazelwood.
In addition, the Manager is supported on the floor by Unit Managers for respective sides, Deputy Managers, team of Nurses, Team Leaders, Senior care staff and care staff. Ashton House has 4 nurses on the floor 8am to 8pm and 3 nurses in the night-time.
A typical shift would be covered by three trained nurses and around 20 care assistants, complemented by ancillary staff including chefs, activity organisers, housekeeping, maintenance and administrative staff.
The home is fully committed to staff learning and development. There are some staff working towards their NVQ qualifications and there are various monthly training courses available for staff development.
Medical care is provided by the local General Practitioner. The home has retainer GPs who visit weekly.
Referrals to specialist services and facilities can be arranged through the GP. Every six weeks we are visited by a chiropodist and other services can be arranged by appointment.
